OUR SERVICES

Since 1962, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Brea – Placentia – Yorba Linda has provided fun and engaging after-school and summer programs to thousands of youth. With our after-school transportation program and strategically located facilities, we offer a unique array of services to serve the kids who need us most in our communities. Our low-cost programs ensure that membership is within reach of all kids who need a safe, positive place to go during non-school hours.

Hundreds of Brea, Placentia, and Yorba Linda youth, ages 5-18, participate annually as members of our Brea Clubhouse, on-campus program at Yorba Linda Middle School, city partnership in Placentia, and summer programs. These youth benefit from trained, caring, professional staff who provide guidance, encouragement, and the tools they need to grow into productive, caring, and responsible adults.

Our Priorities

Aligned with our mission to enable all young people, especially those who need us the most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, we have three priorities for every child who attends our club:

Academic Success

We want every child to graduate from high school with a plan for the future. To help them get there, we provide structured programs and resources such as homework help, a technology lab, a library full of books for all ages and reading levels, an art shop filled with a variety of supplies, a tween room, and a teen center.

Healthy Lifestyles

We want children to live healthy, active lifestyles and practice making good decisions for themselves in our clubs and elsewhere in their daily lives. From sports games in our gym and at the park to recognizing and finding new ways to communicate their feelings to being surrounded by staff mentors, we help children build skills to live healthier lives and make better decisions.

Good Character and Citizenship

We develop character every day in our clubs by emphasizing integrity, respect, self-esteem, and responsibility. These are our expectations of our children, our staff, and our volunteers.

Our Key Policies

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Brea – Placentia -Yorba Linda has an Open Door Policy. This means that children are welcome to come during the hours we are open and can choose from a variety of activities based on age and personal preference. Children are in an area with staff at all times, but the Club is not a daycare facility. Parents/guardians arrange who is allowed to pick up child(ren) and what time that will happen.

Every child is expected to take responsibility for their own actions and choices. Children who cannot or will not follow behavioral expectations may be asked to take time away from the Club and to reassess their values before coming back. This is based on an escalating discipline scale that will be enforced by your Club Directors. While a child may be suspended for a time for making poor choices, no child should be permanently expelled.
